Carnage and violence in the kitchen

One of the best things my wife has bought is our bread maker.

We must have had it for over 15 years now.

You would think that after all that time we would have got used to the smell of fresh bread in the morning and we would have developed some degree of decorum and self control.

Apparently not.

I could only guess at the feverish fight to consume a slice(!) of bread that resulted in the remains that greeted me when I got home...

Apologies for the quality, the photos were taken with my phone, while I still had the chance.

Testing testing...

I went on a test stroll Easter Monday to check how unfit I am, to gauge how much work I have to do before the Summer.

Eight miles around Ivanhoe Beacon.

I thought I'd get away from the crowds.

Hah!

New, new adventure - West Highland Way

The venue has changed for the Summer.

As we have only nine days walking this year, the West Highland Way looks like a better bet.

I've not done a long walk in Scotland before so it should be good.

Now the problem is we may have too many days. Most people take a week to to the 'Way. We have nine days.

A day hopefully will be spent on Ben Nevis, that leaves a spare day to do another Munro. Ronald Turnbull's book 'Not The West Highland Way' is on the shopping list, as is 'The Highland Highway' for this purpose.

The main guidebook will probably be the Trailblazer guide, as it received a good review from Lonewalker.

Well, it's a start...
